The D-Link DWS-4026 is a unified switch that provides centralized management of a wireless network infrastructure in business environments. Every port features Power over Ethernet (PoE) and Gigabit connectivity that support the high-speed wireless standard, 802.11n. All aspects of the wireless LAN may be centrally controlled, including SSIDs, VLAN and encryption keys. In addition, the switch can adjust the output power on each AP and perform dynamic channel allocation and load balancing between APs.
Fast roaming is supported, not only between physical Access Points, but also between logical IP subnets. The switch also includes full Layer2+ management features for use in mixed wired/wireless environments.

The DWL-8600AP is a next-generation Unified Access Point supporting 802.11n wireless connectivity that can be configured as either a managed AP (with the DWS-4026) or a standalone AP. The DWL-8600AP comes with concurrent 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz radios, offering combined data rates of up to 600Mbps to wireless clients access to bandwidth-intensive applications. Equipped with a PoE-enabled Gigabit Ethernet port, the DWL-8600AP delivers line-rate throughput for higher speed WLAN technologies as well as deployment in the toughest RF environment. Additionally, the DWL-8600AP features Automatic Power Save Delivery, allowing the client to go into power saving mode when not sending or receiving packets.

D-Link's next generation Unified Access Point supporting the IEEE 802.11n standard can be flexibly deployed as a stand-alone "fit" wireless Access Point or as a "thin" managed Access Point (AP) manageable from a wireless switch such as D-Link's DWS-4026. Businesses can start with an intelligent DWL-8600AP then migrate to a centrally managed solution by integrating the same DWL-8600AP to a D-Link unified wired/wireless switch.
With Quadband technology, wireless speeds reach up to 300 Mbps in each frequency band simulnaneously. When managed from the switch, the Access Point does not store any setting locally. Power also comes from the switch via 802.3af PoE.
The DWL-8600AP continuously tunes itself for optimal RF channel and signal intensity to provide clients with the best wireless signal. It is also able to scan its RF environment, allowing the switch to detect rogue APs.
In addition, DWL-8600AP supports 802.1Q VLAN tagging, Load Balancing among Neighbour Aps, up to 16 SSIDs per radio and is Wi-Fi Multimedia (WMM) certified.
